Jacksonville 39 out of 40 in safety - Jacksonville Business Journal

Jacksonville was second-to-last in a ranking of the safety of the 40 largest cities in the country by Forbes magazine. Only Miami was more dangerous.

The rankings are based on a city’s levels of violent crime, workplace fatality rates, traffic death rates and natural disaster risk.

The Jacksonville metro area ranked 30th in natural disaster risk, and that was the best showing in any of the four categories. The area was 35th for workplace fatalities, 37th for violent crime and 39th for traffic death rates.
