I was coming back on the 10 fwy from Ontario this afternoon and saw it from the Milliken onramp. As I got closer to the 50/57 exchange, I saw the yellow super scooper aiplane fly over. I even saw the flames racing up the hill from the 10 at Fairplex Dr. Scary stuff if you ask me.

I saw all the fires like maybe 5 min after they were started. Me and my mom were driving back home to Fullerton from Pomona on the 60W and the fires were literally right next to the slow lane on the 60E. When we were driving by, there weren't even any fire fighters or police or anyone checking out the fires. It was pretty scary, but it's nice to know that no one was hurt and no one needed to be evacuated from their homes. Also nice to know that they have the fires contained. Love our fire fighters and police men!

"It caught on fire and the owner called and within four minutes those planes were dropping water on it," Kennedy said. "It was pretty impressive."

That should not have happened it those planes should have been there in 1 minute. What's going on with these firefighters they are too slow.

It's unbelievable how unorganized the district and high school officials were during the fire emergency. The district has been told numerous times that they need more than one entrance/exit in case of an emergency. School buses went up to the school many times and came back down empty. What was the point of that??

Wow! We were just having lunch and we saw the first columns of black smoke come up over our hill. In a matter of minutes it was clear that the fire was spreading rapidly. It was only after we relocated to the upper field that we had a view of all the fires (I counted 6 around us at the time) that almost completely surrounded us. It was truly a terrifying sight to behold. The school handled the situation very well despite the initial confusion with student pick up.

It seemed to me that those buses were standing by prepared to evacuate students in the event that the fire grew out too of hand. Just a safety precaution, I'm sure. In the end, we didn't need the buses anyway. The fires were put down rather quickly and we were allowed to leave not long after that.

it was stupid how they made everyone go in the gym.
while everyone was going down to the gym i grabbed people that i knew and left as quick as possible. THIS IS WHY WE NEED ANOTHER ENTRANCE.

and it was pretty funny how everyone in class thought it was another prank since people pull the alarm at least like once a week.

actually, the school belongs to pomona school district, addressed by Pomona, accessed from pomona, but it "physically" sits in Diamond Bar. Hence the confusion.

Wake up parents! You need to MAKE THE SCHOOL BUILD ANOTHER EXIT. The school is surrounded by brush. DEMAND IT FOR THE SAFETY OF YOUR CHILDREN. The school should have never been open without a secondary route.

i think it was dumb that they made us go to the top field where the fire was and it was so close like isn't that bad to breathe in??!! i dont understand why they didnt take people to the gym first or allow them to walk down BEFORE the fire got closer to the point where parents couldn't get up the hill to get us. IF we had another way down the hill then it wouldn't be so chaotic for everyone to leave. some people were stuck in that gym till like four. so the school is dumb for that..

I thought it was really stupid how they made us go up to the track. The whole school is surrounded by FLAMMABLE hills, yet they make us go up to where everything is dry. Then they transfer us to the gym where we have to wait about 2 hours just so our parents can pick us up. They were only letting up about 25 cars at a time to go get their kids when they could've done at least 50 and not had much of an issue with traffic, that way we wouldn't have to wait hours waiting for our names to be called by someone who was yelling into the microphone making everything barely audible. Over all, it was just hell.

An announcement was made to the student body telling them to make arrangements to get picked up early, by a parent, due to the fire. Somebody forgot to clue in the POMONA POLICE DEPARTMENT. The traffic cops at the bottom of the hill were a joke. It was the blind leading the blind, literally, they held up the parents in their cars, for 30-45 minutes, in the choking smoke, in a half mile long line, while they allowed other parents to hike up the hill to get their kid. PPD should pick up some training from CHP or LASD, two agencies that know how to work fires. As usual, Fire did a great job!

It was so unorganized!! The buses went up to get the students, then the buses were suppose to take the parents up to the school (yea right!) parents were flagging down the buses and they just ignored us. Then we were told to get our cars and come back up. What a mistake to listen to any of this. The school and officials were so unprepared for this fire. No wonder the parents were mad and furious and upset!!! It was so unorganized!!
