Irvine's first park gets green makeover
IRVINE Final touches are being made on the renovated University Community Park, the first in the city to undergo an extensive "green" tune-up. The 16-acre park the first one built in Irvine in 1976 will officially reopen Saturday after an 18-month, $6.5 million revamping that brought the park up to green building standards.
