a good nabor hood watch is better than a trooper in lot of ways..my opu.
|
||||
It is, but nobody wants to go out and patrol, everyone wants to post signs and do nothing else, nobody wants to stay out late or get up early |
||||
I think people are afraid of criminals...they fear retaliation. |

1 No there does need to be more than 5 I agree...probably 25. The area of Post 9 is just too big for the workload the Troopers carried. They are much overworked but we are very happy with the ones we have received. Now just so you know, the reason they can't get to you in an hour is because you need to look at how big of a Sector B and C is...that is the biggest in the state and from Floyd County all the way up to the Letcher County line, all the way to Feds Creek...that is an hour or longer drive is some places. How do you expect them to get there quickly? If people would only use the police for an emergency and not stupid crap and every little thing that goes wrong, they wouldn't be tied up with everything else and would get to what they needed to quicker. Second, 2 Troopers are picked from every Post to go to places like the KY Derby...these are Special Detail days they go, sometimes it is their day off. Who is supposed to go to protect the people if not the Troopers? Who else do you expect for them to send? The people there need protection, and keep in mind there are people at the Derby such as Michael Jordan, governors, politicians, Sandra Bullock, etc. The troopers are needed there. |

Maybe I can help. I have had a great deal of experience dealing with morons. If I understand correctly this poster believes that everyone should be free to do whatever they wish, illegal or not, and that no one should be arrested or charged with crimes. They apparently feel the best way to accomplish this euphoric goal would be to make everyone a trooper. |

Okay, thanks...I was trying to decipher and that's about the same conclusion I came up with that he said too but I was thinking at the same time...how can someone even think that?? |

Post 9 is divided up into 4 sectors.... Floyd County Martin Magoffin Johson Pike is divided into two: B/C Sector (Floyd County line to LEtcher county line, all the way up to Feds Creek and to Belfry. Then A sector is Belfry/Grapevine way So we did get the five, they aer just spread out. If you're wanting to know about Pike Co. I think we got the other 3 or 4. |
|||
"A" sector is the sector I worked when I was still working back home. It actually covers all of Belfry/Pond Creek/Hardy, South Williamson, Turkey Creek, Hatfield/Big Creek/Sidney, Brushy, parts of Meta, Kimper, Phelps, Freeburn/Majestic/Stopover and Blackberry/McCarr. |

Sad part about it is, how many left. Looks like Frankfort would push the numbers up, and not let them go down. But as long as you see Troopers all over Frankfort, maybe they dont care about the people in the stiks..... good luck Troopers you need it with the help you get... |

What's so bad about it is the funding...the part aobut it being hard to get into is okay. They MAKE it hard so it weeds out 99% of the corrupt officers. But it's the funding that is the problem. The last class to graduate in June 2009 only had 30 some. The class graduated before in February 2008 had in the sixties...the problem is that the Academy takes 24 weeks in all...6 months. At most that would be two a year but it keeps and keeps getting pushed back because the funding doesn't come through. |
