Lincoln County officials remain optimistic a new $5.5 million sewer system along the U.S. 127 corridor is a possibility in the near future, even though the flow of funding for infrastructure upgrades has slowed to a trickle.

Hustonville City Council members voted unanimously Tuesday to approve first reading of an ordinance that would increase water rates by 15 percent.
