Steve Fedewa hopes he never has to use the maneuvers he practiced as an ROTC cadet staff sergeant.

A Texas hold-em tournament is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 27, from 3:30 to 10:30 p.m. at Hubbardston Community Center, 305 Russell St., Hubbardston, to benefit the Tuscan Lodge 178 F-AM. A cash table takes place from 3:30 to 10 p.m. with a tournament at 5 p.m. The buy-in is $30 and the tournament pays to five places, 60 percent payback.

IONIA - It's harvest time again. It appears that lots of people are gardening for the first time.

The July 15 meeting of the Friends of The Maple River will be held at the community center located at 305 Russell Street in Hubbardston.
