Two people are dead, another in serious condition after a motorcycle crash on Detroit's east side.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - A man who pleaded guilty to two counts of felony murder in the slayings of a Howard City couple has been sentenced to life in prison with no possibility of parole.

The Howard City firm takes unclaimed dogs and cats from the county's shelter, and last year sold about 150 of the animals for research.

Animalearn, a division of the American Anti-Vivisection Society, spent two years studying how public universities acquire animals for medical education.
