Teenage Swimmer Missing in Housatonic

Searchers worked through the afternoon into the evening in Salisbury after a teenager went missing while swimming in the Housatonic River.  State police say four teenagers were swimming when they encountered fast-moving water and ran into trouble.  Three were stranded and one went under and did not resurface.

Housatonic Railroad wants to expand Hawleyville transfer station

The Housatonic Railroad Co. has plans to expand the construction and demolition debris transfer station on its rail line in the Hawleyville section of town from its current limit of 450 tons a day to a maximum of 2,000 tons a day.
