Houghton hosting Christian conference
One hundred-sixty students from Christian colleges around the country will spend three days this week at Houghton College as part of the annual National Christian Multicultural Student Leaders Conference.
Gourmet Today Benefits from Magazine's Closing
Gourmet Today had a lot going for it before the magazine folded on October 5. For $40 , readers would get more than 1,000 recipes - for vegetable sides, seafood dishes, cocktails and much more - from the editors at the prestigious magazine.
The unfortunate closing of Gourmet may have had one positive side effect: the publisher of Gourmet Today reports that the book's sales have increased significantly since Cond Nast announced the magazine's shuttering.

Houghton College selling Star Lake campus
The foundation for Houghton College, a Christian school in Allegany County, is listing its 40-acre Star Lake campus for $799,000. "We do have an offer, but it's not a confirmed sale so we're not going to release any information about it and we're going to continue to show it," said Sharon L. Myers, director of public relations for Houghton College.

Houghton College has put its West Seneca satellite campus on the market. The 36-acre complex, which has been owned by the Allegany County-based private college since the late 1960s, is listed for $2.5 million.
