Well, if you have "knew" her for awhile, then you would know whether or not reports of Melissa Miller being CONVICTED in the past of on charges of misdemeanor theft, prostitution, possession of drug paraphernalia and criminal trespassing. All of which she was currently on court supervision for.

And then there were the added two charges of aggravated battery after she bit a Sauk Village police officer during her arrest and spit in a paramedic's face.

Oh, and according to Sauk Village Detective Robert Grossman, she appeared intoxicated at the time of her arrest, after she called 911 to report the stabbing herself, and was recorded on 911 tapes as saying "I did not mean to to hurt you, Papa."

Even though NEITHER of her two sons was at the trailer at the time she stabbed Szwet, apparently she had left her 3 year old son with someone that for all intense purposes was a total stranger, as she had been staying at Szwet's house for several days.

But like you said smp, It's all probably B.S. and being made up, just cause you can't see her doing it. In fact, I bet it's all just a conspiracy against this poor woman. I mean you can read the actual story yourself at http://www.southtownstar.com/neighborhoodstar... keeping in mind that if something weren't true it could not be published in the newspaper for fear of slander or libel of character, but they probably did that as well.

When people like you stop trying to make excuses for people like Melissa Miller, will people stop being stabbed to death for no reason other than trying to help someone out.

And to tell you the truth smp, I hope she never sees her children again, and never walks a free woman ever again. She's a violent, multiple time convicted crimminal that sooner or later most likely would have hurt her own kids because of her drug problem.

Oh, and in case you don't get it, you just don't "accidently" stab someone in the right shoulder blade and in the center of the back, puncturing someone's lung, because you are in too much of an alcohol and drug induced stupor to rationalize going to the police if you think the stranger you moved in with several days ago may have molested your son. The son she put there in the house and in that position in the first place. But it's all Bullshit and she couldn't POSSIBLY have done this...

Woman indicted in stabbing death of Sauk Village man
Defense attorney wants to preserve 911 tapes from incident
GREGORY TEJEDA - Times Correspondent | Posted: Wednesday, August 26, 2009 1:20 pm |

MARKHAM | A Homewood woman appeared in court Wednesday to face murder charges in the stabbing death of a Sauk Village man in his mobile home earlier this month.
Melissa Miller, 28, is being held at the jail in lieu of $1 million bond. Miller had no comment during her five-minute court appearance at the 6th District Cook County Circuit Court.
Her attorney, Patrick McKeigue, asked Cook County Judge Robert J. Clifford to issue a court order requiring the police in Sauk Village to preserve audio recordings of the 911 call made by Miller to report that 65-year-old David Szwet had been stabbed.
McKeigue would not say what he hoped to find on that recording, or how it would help his defense of Miller.
"I'm at the beginning of building a case," he said. "I'm just gathering information at this point."
Clifford issued the court order, even though he wondered in open court if Sauk Village police would already have erased any recordings of an incident that occurred on Aug. 5.
"I'll issue the order, but that presumes the (recordings) are still in existence," he said. "You never know."
Prosecutors said Miller stabbed Szwet twice in his back following a quarrel at his home in the Candlelight Village mobile home park in the far southeast suburb.
Miller and Szwet were friends and she was visiting him at the time of the incident, according to prosecutors.
Police in Sauk Village said the quarrel began when Szwet allegedly spanked Miller's 4-year-old son, but prosecutors have not offered a motive for the attack.
Miller is scheduled to appear in court again for arraignment on Sept. 15.

I can't imagine why the cops wouldn't have kept the recordings. I'm not a cop, but it would seem to be common sense to keep anything involving the case.

I predict she will be convicted on this case. Also, she will get a thirty year sentence on this conviction.

There is a difference between everyone makes mistakes and murdering someone. There is a big difference between a mistake and the violent act of murder. I wonder if you would have the same viewpoint if it was your family member or friend that was murdered. Would you still think the murderer only made a mistake?

If the call came in on 911-it has to be recorded and kept.

Let me know what town hires CONVICTED BURGLARY FELONS on their fire department, against NFPA regulations. It's obvious you couldn't POSSIBLY pass the required WRITTEN EXAM. But as a convicted felon, you either lied on your application, or the town you were hired on to was too stupid to background check you. But I'll go with my first idea that you are as fireman as much as I am a brain surgeon.

I knew this girl my whole teen years till now we were not very close but I knew her ups and downs and kept in contact with her family I personally do not agree the way she lived her life but this is a perfect example of what happens all the time in "Chicago height, Steger, Sauk village, park forest.... ECT. The town is nothing but drug addicts, crooked cops, a VERY FEW normal level headed people and Sauk village voice you are a perfect example of the immaturity and corruption of that area who are you?
WOW YOU ARE VERY UNEDUCATED ABOUT ALCOHOL BLACK OUTS BEFORE YOU GO TALKING SHIT TO EVERYONE ON THIS WEBSITE AND POSTING YOUR RIDICULES OPINIONS GO SEE A DRUG AND ALCOHOL CONSULAR SO YOU KNOW WHAT YOUR TALKING ABOUT! I am not saying it is right how she lived or what she did was right but it was defiantly provoked and by a person that cannot be judged any better than she is considering what would this poor defenseless innocent man be doing with such a drug addict, prostitute, professional criminal that you make her out to be in the first place HUH stupid your comments are cruel and isn't 1st degree murder planned out? It seems like a fight gone bad ... In the end she will probably stay in jail because her family don’t have alot of money and money is power here ... and you seem not to believe in the justice system considering she isn't even convicted yet so ... Little pathetic voice from GHETTO ASS Sauk village keep sitting in this web site judging everyone everyday because you have NO LIFE and go screw your self your just a board little girl with no life get of the internet and out of the slums of Chicago and worry about your own life and your own kids if you even have any and stop picking on people that cannot defend themselves Get a damn life you LOSER your no better that the people you judge "judge and be judged"
