Homer police officer shoots self following confrontation
HAYNESVILLE - A Homer police officer who had barricaded himself in his house around noon today following a dispute with the police chief is en route to LSU Hospital in Shreveport with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the abdomen, Haynesville Police Chief Anthony Smith said.
Shortly after a confrontation with his boss, a Homer police officer went home, barricaded himself inside and then shot himself as law officers were outside, police said.
