Six charged with domestic violence crimes in 10 days

In a proclamation declaring October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Homer Mayor Pro Tempore Dennis Novak urged citizens "to observe this month by becoming aware of the tragedy of domestic violence." Charges filed in court this month show the range of domestic violence incidents.

Homer not in gas plan

Enstar Natural Gas Co. has reached an agreement to purchase 10 billion cubic feet of gas from a group of independent companies, Anchor Point Energy, working to develop the small North Fork gas field near Anchor Point on the Kenai Peninsula, Enstar spokesman John Sims said Monday.
