Local Man Back Home After Shooting In New Orleans
“There has been a preliminary hearing; they are trying to piece together the evidence as it comes in.”
A local man who was seriously injured in a shooting while volunteering his time in New Orleans is now back at home.
Earlier this month, Mark Smith, 23, of Peters Township, was wounded and spent for more than two weeks in critical condition after the shooting.
"One bullet went into my forearm and into my side and the other one went into my upper abdomen," Smith says. "The bullet that went into my upper abdomen hit my lung and went through my liver."
After graduating from Grove City College, Smith said he decided to sign up with AmeriCorps to volunteer for one year in New Orleans. Read more
