The grape glut that swept through the Finger Lakes region in the 1970s turned out to be a blessing for John and Josephine Ingle, who responded to the market downturn by building Heron Hill Winery on Keuka Lake and keeping their own harvest for winemaking.

Area firefighters battle house fire
A fire broke out at a Penn Yan, Yates County, home Sunday. Firefighters responded to the fire at 3109 Bath Road about 3 p.m. and found the home engulfed in flames, according to the Penn Yan Fire Department.
