Black Hills vacation-home industry thriving
“The vacation home industry is booming”
For a steadily increasing number of Black Hills visitors, the first ingredient for an ideal family vacation is a secluded, comfortable house or cabin in the woods next to a babbling brook, with deer wandering past the door.
The vacation home is a concept that took off in the Black Hills in the late 1990s, according to Kim Benning of Heart of the Hills Vacation Homes in Hill City. Benning manages several vacation homes scattered from Deadwood to Custer for their owners.
'It's a great alternative, especially for someone who has been to the Black Hills before and is looking forward to a less hectic, more relaxing stay,' Benning said. Read more
