Three more filed for the school board election on Tuesday. Incumbent Buddy Armour filed for the central district seat, as did Creag Hanson, while Justin Tate filed for the western district seat on the Burke County Board of Education.

A theft in Hildebran was charged up to a combination of holiday and hot weather.

The filing period for the Nov. 3 election starts Monday. Filing opens at 8 a.m. Monday and runs through noon on July 17.

Charges Tony Otis Earls, 36, of 702 Magnolia St., Granite Falls was served a warrant Wednesday for DWI and driving while license revoked.
