This story absolutely breaks my heart!!! What a bunch of heartless, self-proclaimed superior idiots running that shelter. The man has lost everything in the world except for his beloved dog & the Humane Society decides to add insult to injury by STEALING his dog from him. I'll be following this story closely. If this shelter has euthanized this dog, I hope to be one of many, many people who will protest this inhumane society. Good luck, Mr. Thomas. You have allot of people in your corner hoping for a good outcome.

It would have been nice if the manager of the establishment had sought out the owner FIRST!, and had asked him to go check on his dog....instead of calling the cops first and thereby making a federal case out of it!

Geez!

What a bunch of jerks!

This is a CIVIL CASE. Not Abuse or Neglect

Just because the man's dog, dirtied in the car, they're going to penalize this man? Because this man was down and out, living in his car with his dog, they're going to penalize this man?

How many people living in their homes , have dogs that dirty inside their homes?

I've seen at the Humane Society, dogs dirtying in their cages. Does this give them the right to turn this case into Abuse or Neglect? Because the man was living in his car?

I wish I could testify in the court , against the Middletown Police. There has been talk about them for many years on end , how they will pick on people there in Middletown that are Poor and Live a Low Down Life.. We lived there in Middletown, a few years ago, for many years. I've seen and heard how they treat these kind of people. And it even happened to us!

I can testify, how they pulled over my husband one day, because he was looking quite shabby and down and out. I knew he needed a haircut, and was looking very poorly, with an out grown beard.

I had this feeling, they would see him and pull him over.. A Week Later, LOW and Behold They DID !!.

The Middletown Police passed him by driving in the opposite direction and hurriedly turned their car around and stop him in his car. They came up to him and told him, "We smelled Alcohol !". My husband Laughed! He said, "Sir's, I do NOT drink Alcohol. Only Coffee".

Now how can they smell alcohol in my husbands car, by passing by him?

That's an Absurd statement. Besides that, My husband was a Well known, Respectable Business Man. But those few weeks he didn't look like a Business Man. And Yes, We Only drink Coffee!

That goes to show how the Middletown Police Respond to the Citizens of Middletown.

Where Are Our Rights and Freedom as a Citizen of the United States? There are Hundreds of thousands Homeless people in this Country. Does that give the Offiicals the right to take a companion away from these people?

Hitchhikers and Truck Drivers take their companion dogs along with them. Will their rights be taken away too?

This CASE is NOT About ABUSE or NEGLECT. It's about the LOW LIFE of People!

I Pray for this Man and His dog to be ReUnited! They're Both Probably Pretty Sad!

I think it is a Civil Rights case. Where are the likes of Jesse Jackson to defend the homeless man?
