Hessmer man held on sex-with-children charges

A Hessmer, La., man was arrested Thursday on charges he sexually abused children, the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff's Office said.

One man died in a single-vehicle crash in Avoyelles Parish. State police identified the man as 51-year-old Glenn A. Gauthier of Hessmer.
