Overwritten, overripe 'Salome' in Sherman

In Noel Coward's "Private Lives," one of the characters observes: "How potent cheap music is." Nearly 50 years earlier, Oscar Wilde discovered the same effect could be achieved with sensationalism when he wrote his short play "Salome," based on an incident described in the Bible.
