Jaime your a great example for someone who wishes for a way with words. Nice gift to your wife. Do you remember the ferry anchored off Redondo that I think for $1.50 you could ride out in a shuttle boat and fish all night and day bait included?( I might be wrong on the price but it was cheap) Remember the Flying Jib in Rendondo?

I wish I had known about that shuttle boat, but I didn't. And I do remember the Flying Jib because I had an older buddy at work who had a sailboat in Redondo. I was once supposed to go sailing with him and Dizzy Gillespie, but the day was scrapped at the last minute. |

What a sweet story. It's too bad more people can't claim the same success. We need more role models like you. Happy Anniversary you two love birds.

As I recall there were two (we called them barges) anchored off Redondo, I thought it was a $1.00. The last shuttle boat was around 10pm and if you missed it you were there all night. |

My cousin & I spent a few nights out there as our parents would drop us off and make sure we weren't on the last boat knowing we couldn't get off until morning. We were about 10 or 11.

My Dad and I fished all night many times. I was around that age. I can see the decks, the bait tanks and the benches. Good memories, small world. |

Hi Jamie,
I worked at the Insomniac in 1962. I was 18. They called us dishwashers the Rancids. Those were incredible times. I moved to Sausalito in 1964 and helped start another coffee house on an abandoned ferry boat. It's 45 years later and I live just down the road from there. If you get this I'm at: jerry@crystalfair.com Best of luck to you, Jerry Tomlinson |

Small world. I lived my childhood on Curtis Ave. in Redondo Beach. Parents worked at Safeway in Hermosa Beach.
Good story O'Neill |
