Hermon man charged with aggravated DWI
State police charged Jonathan R. Dalton, 31, Hermon, with aggravated driving while intoxicated following a stop at 2:06 a.m. Friday on County Route 21. A BAC of 0.08 percent or higher is considered proof of intoxication under state law.

Fire destroys Richville garage, 10 snowmobiles
Richville fire chief Mark L. Shippee said garage, owned by Jeffrey M. Stinson of Richville, was “pretty much totaled.” Mr. Shippee said the call came in at 12:30 p.m. and Richville, Gouverneur, Edwards, DeKalb and Hermon fire crews were on the scene for about two hours.

Graduation rates at all St. Lawrence County schools above state average
New York State Board of Regents Chancellor Merryl H. Tisch and New York State Education Commissioner John B. King, Jr. today released high school graduation rates for the 2008 cohort - students who entered 9th grade in 2008, and those statistics showed that all high schools in St. Lawrence County had graduation rates higher than the state average.
