3-2 vote settles legal expenses issue

Feds: Couple sold guns from home

A Henderson couple and three others were involved in the sale of a wide variety of guns out of the couple's home before the illicit trade was halted by federal authorities, according to court documents and a spokeswoman for the U.S. Attorney's Office.

Attorney General opinion says counties must pay legal bill

The Tennessee Attorney General has written an opinion claiming counties are responsible for the fees and expenses associated with legal representation of the county election commissions in lawsuits arising out of the hiring or firing of county administrators of elections.

Commission chairman says open meeting laws may have been violated

The chairman of the Cumberland County Election Commission Monday - with camera rolling and a court reporter taking down every word said - admitted that mistakes were made and that they possibly included violations to the Tennessee 'Sunshine Law' in regards to state law that governs public meetings.
