Prosecutor: Mom who left baby showed 'depraved indifference'

A Hempstead mother who abandoned her newborn daughter in a shoebox has six other children, ages 8 and younger, and admitted to being addicted to cocaine during her latest pregnancy, a prosecutor said Thursday.

I Cannot believe this happened.. How could this woman do such a cruel and unimaginable
monstrosity, I feel sooo sorry for Xiomara's Mother.My heart goes out to this criminal parent.

how could she leave a her babyborn in a garage can she is a bad mother that i have ever seen. poor babyborn i hope is fells better and is ok.she is so cute godbless

she didn't leave her in a garbage can did she? also i believe she should be punished after all we do have the safe haven law...she could have taken this baby to a hospital, firestation or a church and left the infant...

my problem is that she is held on 1/2 million bail and the long island prom mom who killed her kid did 26 months or something in jail for having her baby at the prom and killing it so she could go dancing .. it's just wrong..

When this story broke it was obvious the anchors were already in place for this illegal to game the system (or 'undocumented sex worker' as this rag would portray her).
