Man killed in carjacking was a gifted student, family says
“There is no way to explain it.”
Kansas City police today identified the man killed in a carjacking Tuesday afternoon as a gifted student who was set to graduate from Avila University in eight weeks with his master's degree.
Police said Brandon C. Fauntleroy-McDowel, 25, of Raytown was leaving his job at an investment company near 8th and Jefferson streets about 5:15 p.m. when someone shot him and stole his red 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe. Police said they were investigating his death as a random carjacking.
Police today are still looking for his stolen Tahoe, with Missouri license plate 1CB 83L. Anyone with information should call the Tips Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (8477.) Read more
