The Randolph County Community Educational Outreach Service convened for its 2009 fall meeting Sept.

Helvetia, is a small Swiss-German town in Randolph County. Like any good Swiss-German town, it has a fabulous restaurant.

Feast of St. Nicholas will be Dec. 5 in the Helvetia Community Hall. Dinner will be at 5:30 p.m. Those attending are asked to bring a covered dish and one wrapped child's gift.

The warm weather over the weekend was a nice break from the multiple downpours the area has endured over the past few months.

World Vision, a Christian volunteer group that organizes churches to take part in nationwide charity work, has recently turned its eyes toward Randolph and Upshur counties where groups of children and teens are fixing a playground and repairing a school.
