Suspect in shooting delays plea

A 28-year-old man shot an attendee at a King Center picnic multiple times after the victim tried speaking to him about an ongoing dispute with his brother, according to prosecutors who charged him with attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon. The relationship between the 36-year-old victim and Sullivan Omar Gayden, of Hayward, came to light as he appeared in court for initial arraignment on the felony charges.
