Fugitive suspect arrested at NYC airport
A man suspected in a fatal hit-and-run accident on Long Island has been arrested at John F. Kennedy International Airport aboard a flight to Poland.
Suffolk County Assistant District Attorney Glenn Kurtzrock says 22-year-old Lukasz Bienczyk (BEE' en chik) confessed to the fatal hit-and-run accident after he was arrested Thursday night aboard a LOT Polish flight to Warsaw. The Lindenhurst resident is a Polish national.
Bienczyk pleaded not guilty at arraignment Friday to felony charges of leaving the scene of a fatal accident. He was ordered held pending bail of $150,000 cash or $450,000 bond.
