Is there any holiday that brings back so many memories as Christmas? It began with the birth of a baby but over the years more customs were added.

In solemn ceremonies, wreaths were placed at Veterans Memorial Plaza on Saturday.

Pretty much everybody thinks of wreaths as being associated with Christmas. But some Wendell middle school students found the connections between holiday greenery, and remembering our fallen veterans.

On Saturday at 11 a.m. the Middle East Conflicts Wall Memorial in Marseilles will be among hundreds of locations where the synchronized laying of wreaths nationwide will be part of the Wreaths Across America project.

Wal-Mart truck drivers are making extra special deliveries this week, for a program called "Wreaths Across America." It's a non-profit program started by Morrill Wocester, from Harrington, Maine.

The air was cold but the smiles were warm as local veterans and supporters greeted The Worcester Wreath Company and dozens of accompanying volunteers at Kittery Trading Post Monday morning.

About two dozen members of the military gathered at the Capitol today to honor veterans and those who are currently serving in the armed forces.

For Morrill Worcester, this time of year is all about remembering the heroes who died protecting the United States, one wreath at a time.

Each year workers at the Worcester Wreath Company in Harrington load thousands of wreaths onto trucks to be shipped to Arlington National Cemetery.
