A compromise has ended seven years of legal wrangling over a controversial luxury home proposed for an undeveloped stretch of the Harmony coast.
The California Coastal Commission approved plans Thursday from Los Osos businessman Dennis Schneider to build a home with amenities that is 30 percent smaller than originally proposed on bluffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
In exchange, Schneider agreed to grant an easement across his property that would allow a future segment of the California Coastal Trail to traverse the 40-acre parcel along its ridgeline. Read more
