One suspect is behind bars, but another suspect remained at large Friday in connection with a breaking and entering of a Giles County store on Oct.

One person is dead after an accident Monday morning. Lincoln County State Police said they responded to a one-car accident on route 34 outside of Hamlin just after 5:20 a. m. A truck driven by Michael Darryl Adkins, 19, of Hamlin, left the road and flipped over.

An accident has caused a power outage in parts of Lincoln County. A single vehicle wrecked at 7:30 a.m. and caused power lines to go down in the Sod area, according to dispatchers.

The Lincoln County 4th of July celebration kicks off this Friday at the fairgrounds near Hamlin.

A Lincoln County man has been arrested for allegedly murdering his live-in girlfriend on May 7. State Police Senior Trooper N.W. Samples and Hamlin Police Department Patrolman Brian Lawrence responded to a 911 complaint of a suicide on May 7 around 1 a.m. They found Veronda Hidalgo, 49, of Hamlin, dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
