Big Sandy police said they found a Gurdon, Arkansas, man early Wednesday with 2 pounds of marijuana strapped to his legs.

In 1986, Joe Thomas was cutting wood in the forest near his Gurdon home when the law came to get him, relatives recalled.

A series of dollar store burglaries across four states has led to the Arkansas State Police joining with other law enforcement jurisdictions to investigate the crimes.

Located in Arkadelphia, the cooperative serves 24 school districts in seven counties - Clark, Dallas, Garland, Hot Spring, Howard, Pike and Saline - plus one school district in Grant County.
