Fascism is rampant in the U.S. and this situation proves the point. Since when does Big Oil have the right to dictate what our State energy needs are and the authority to force us to build a time bomb in the middle of Long Island Sound??? Only Big Oil will benefit from this unnecessary and potentially lethal structure...not the consumers and certainly not Long Island sound. Does the average CT citizen even fully understand just how volatile and dangerous natural gas is to transport and store???? Big Oil's claim that they can build a platform and deliver gas without impacting the traffic, wildlife or residents in and along Long Island Sound is an out-and-out lie. It's time that the Federal Government started acting like a Democracy again by requiring that Big Oil abide by the decision made by the representatives of NY and CT residents NOT to build this platform. I'm confident that given it's financial resources (let's not forget about Big Oil's billions of dollars in profits over the past several years) that Big Oil will be able to come up with a much safer and less destructive solution to what only they are claiming is a "problem."
