Species go extinct all the time. The idea that human intervention can prevent extinctions is the worse sort of hubris.

I hope the shrimp does well but it is inevitable that the fairy shrimp and human beings will join the 99.9% of species that have gone extinct on the planet.

Shouldn't the name of this creature be changed? it is un-PC for two reasons. It uses a derogatory epithet about sexual orientation, and one about height.
