Residents remember Hurricane Floyd 15 years later
Warnings about a Category 2 hurricane were issued 15 years ago Monday, marking the last day before the storm of the century hit our coast and changed the lives of people in eastern North Carolina forever. Robert Jones of Grifton moved into his home five years before Hurricane Floyd hit.
Five Taken To Hospital After Wreck In Ayden
Ayden police are working to get traffic flowing normally again on Highway 11 at Highway 102 after a bad crash this morning. Ayden Police Chief Barry Stanley says five people were transported to the hospital after the wreck, but he believed all injuries were minor.

United States Attorney Thomas G. Walker announced that in federal court today, Chief United States District Judge James C. Dever, III, sentenced THOMAS ANDREW TAYLOR, 53, of Grifton, to 188 months imprisonment followed by 15 years of supervised release.
