Atkins-Johnson Farm now listed on National Register of Historic Places
“Historical preservation is a costly endeavor”
In what Gladstone officials are declaring a milestone event for the Atkins-Johnson Farm, the property has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The National Register, which is overseen by the National Park Service, is the country's official list of cultural resources worthy of preservation. It allows a site to receive federal funding and tax credits for preservation efforts.
The Atkins-Johnson Farm, at 6508 N. Jackson St., was listed along with several other properties in the metropolitan area. City officials received the news last week. Read more
