Full story: KSWB-TV San Diego

Grapes and greens aren't all that grow on the North Fork. New restaurants are sprouting, too, even in this sluggish economy.

IMHO, Legends was no great shakes. Overpriced and not worth it.

I'm looking forward to seeing how Blue Duck compares to the Southampton branch (and to Junda's, which I adore!). I think Pepe's is no great shakes, so I'll be moving Red Rooster down my list, sadly. Had a kickass dinner at Legends last week - the dining room was a lovely, quiet break from the pub side burger madness and the swordfish chop special was flawless.

Hopefully there are enough idiots around that will continue to spend money that they don't have.

"Spend money they don't have." ??? Sure, money's tight, but it's still nice to treat yourself to a great meal once in a while. Split an appetizer, share a dessert.. there are lots of ways to make an evening out a reasonable experience. I'm not going to hide in a cave until the recession is over. I don't go out as much as I used to, but jeez, curling up in a corner isn't going to help lift the economy.

Many great restaurants on the North Fork. North Fork Table and Inn is awesome but expensive. Good for anniversaries or divorces.

Daily Horoscope for November 11

Cancer

You can enjoy today's energy, no matter how frantic the pace of life might seem. Plan to meet a friend for lunch and talk about silly things; there is no need to stay serious all the time, so let loose for a while. Pick the brains of someone older and wiser. If you're the oldest person you know, you'll be surprised at how much wisdom can come from the mouths of babes.
