Elation after autistic man found alive in woods
Searchers looking in the woods for 25-year-old Keith Kennedy had a special urgency: He is both autistic and relies on medication following a kidney transplant.
The hunt ended happily Sunday when a firefighter found him alive about a mile from the camp for the disabled that he had wandered away from a week ago.
Searchers had feared Kennedy might suffer a medical emergency without the anti-rejection drugs he has taken since his transplant in 1995. He can only speak four words, and searchers had feared he might not respond if they called out to him.
Sunday is last organized search day for autistic man
Authorities say Sunday is the last day of organized searching for an autistic Minnesota man who has been missing for a week in northwestern Wisconsin.
