Early voting in municipal elections to begin Thursday

I will be the first to vote for change. Mike McCoy,Enoch, Dave for Lenoir City Council. Don't you think its time for a change!

I hear about...change. Don't change my taxes. I like them right where they are. I live in Lenoir and they have not gone up in quite awhile (4 or 5 years). Things seem to be running pretty smooth now. What kind of change do you want? I think the city is doing pretty good with its finances compared to the county and other towns in our area. Change just for the sake of change is not good, especially in these crazy times. I'm voting for the current 3 and undecided on the fourth.

Move to Blowing Rock and check out their taxes. They wanted only residential too. Its inevitable that our taxes will increase as gated communities encircle Lenoir and our county. Property value will skyrocket because of the land appraisals in the future. Mountain land in the north, northwestern, and some even east of town. Lake land to the south from Duke Power land sales. No price is to high for some to pay for homes and land. Guess who'll be caught in the middle paying higher taxes in the future because of this. Average men and women. There have been outrageous tax increases every where the people chose this life style. So high the working people had to move away from their homes and land. There's more working people(middle class) than rich by thousands. Who is this area being set up for? Um.....No new businesses no working class. 2+2 =4. Does the present council want the working people gone? If there are no new businesses the only ones left to pay taxes are the homeowners with no return at all. New business will probably hold our taxes down for the working class. The businesses let into our area will carry most of the tax burden if done correctly while giving the men and women here an opportunity to work and draw a check. Your taxes will increase regardless, more from strictly residential. It may not bother the wealthy but it sure bothers the other 95% of the men and women that have to work to provide for their families

The Monkey must be one of the wealthy here in Lenoir and retired and care less about new jobs here in Lenoir and Caldwell County. Regardless the present council will have no choice down the road but to raise your taxes. They are lacking vision to get new jobs here. As foryouinfo said 95% of the citizens want action they hurting for work. Vote for Change or keep what you got nothing.

After learning about and reading the various posts of and about Caldwell County, Lenoir-28645 and Hudson-28638 North Carolina with amazement and now puzzled if there could be wide spread dishonesty and corruption within the fire rescue ems and em of that county and other jurisdictions. Now how does the general public know what is legitimate and above board. Placing trust in the fire ems rescue and em without knowledge of public safety why would the general public question the actions and expenditures of the fire ems rescue and em. Now how would the general public know what is or isn’t justifiable and legitimate. What group association or organization do these departments officially report to. With what that has been exposed and the accusations should there be an official probe into and a justification for all appointments benefits expenditures employments grants members positions purchases rosters salaries and so on. It is astonishing how effortless it is to manipulate the general public and how unethical these trusted people must be.

I met Mike McCoy & Enoch, Dave at the COC last thursday they was together and was talking about change. The others was not very nice and kept to their circle of friends. Lewis Price was very rude to my wife and son. I can tell you now we need Mike, Enoch, Dave as our new councilmen they care about all of Lenoir just not one circle of cronie.

As you can now see everyone that wants the council to remain in their favor isn't commenting anymore. This is their way to get people to quit thinking and talking about the present council situation. The quieter they can keep whats going on , the longer they can keep what has happened out of the spotlight from the public, the better their chances. Don't let it go away, keep telling all you know about the situation......GET EVERYONE THAT WE CAN TO THE POLLS TO VOTE FOR MIKE, ENOCH, AND DAVE.......P.S. to whomever said they were all deacons, they're not but they all attend the FBC church.

I agree that the council needs some change. But, the absolute last person we need in there is Gary Whisnant. Please people, do your research on the candidates and their backgrounds.

You're right Frank in your thinking. They need represented on the council also and if Joe's their man so be it, but they sure as heck don't need total control of everything. Every single person in this city needs someone willing to work for their needs also. The way you're thinking everyone, not just a few will be represented by our city council in the future

It would be nice if Mike McCoy would just die or move out of Lenoir. we have great council folks here in Lenoir and this is the way we are going to keep it.! The salvation of God is on hand.

No one has still answered what connections Gary Whisnant thinks he has. If he connections that no one else has to help Lenoir what are they? Anyone?

And why is he holding back on helping out the city? If he has the connections and ability to bring jobs to the area, he should be doing it NOW, and getting elected would be a natural consequence of his contributions to the city, rather than some vague promise to only help if he will be rewarded for it.

One of the member at the FBC was talking and said T.J. Rhor was thinking about a bid for house seat again next year and Starnes is looking at Senate seat. They better get some new blood on that council Rhor is the only one that speak out. And not Ron Stilwell he connected to close to the present council no change there.

After talking about the man like that I would say that even if salvation is at hand. it will most likely pass you on by..........
