Thirty veterans of the armed forces taking part in the Brookshire's/Super 1 Foods World War II Heroes Flight departed Thursday morning for their trip.

The Heroes Flight, which departs early Thursday and returns late Saturday, will be a three-day whirlwind tour of monuments, memorials and museums in the nation's capital.

Pastor and author Jonathan Falwell will speak at Marvin United Methodist Church at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

The Texas Department of Transportation contract crews on Monday are scheduled to begin approximatyely one week of mill and inlay operations on the Henderson Square, marking the beginning of the final phase of the signal upgrade project begun last year.
