A storm creeping across the Midwest and into the Great Lakes early Friday was expected to bring snow to Pennsylvania and western New York. By evening, snowfall totals of less than 4 inches were anticipated throughout the eastern Great Lakes, with a few more inches possible across the lower peninsula of Michigan.
Rain was forecast for the southern and central Appalachians, with precipitation arriving at the Mid-Atlantic coast sometime after nightfall. The rain was likely to spread into the Deep South Friday evening, bringing rain and thunderstorms almost to the shores of the Gulf of Mexico. Read more
