A man has been arrested after he sexually abused a young girl for several years, police said.

Methode Electronics to cut 700 jobs
Methode Electronics Inc. said it plans to eliminate 700 jobs at Illinois production facilities, as the Chicago manufacturer shifts the remainder of its automotive-related production offshore.
The maker of electronic components for automotive and other applications said the jobs it is cutting are at Methode's automotive operations in Carthage and Golden, Ill., as well as its electronic -- connector operation in Rolling Meadows.
Because of the financial impact it will have on terminated workers, the decision to initiate the restructuring was 'made with great difficulty,' said President and chief Executive Officer Donald Duda. But, he said, it was 'imperative' that the company act, 'as these operations are becoming unprofitable.' Read more
