A Reno man who led CHP officers on a high-speed chase on Interstate 80 died this afternoon after crashing into a roadwork area and injuring two California Conservation Corps workers.

A Sacramento man allegedly fell asleep at the wheel and crashed his SUV on Interstate 80 near Gold Run Sunday afternoon, killing his passenger.

Interstate 80 was reopened Saturday afternoon through Donner Pass after a series of spinouts, heavy snow and wind forced the closure of the highway.

The Placer County Sheriff's Department today released photographs of two men suspected of home break-ins in the Gold Run area.
