Roseburg report stopping driver speeding at more than 100 mph, find marijuana
A Glide man was cited on suspicion of driving more than 100 mph in a 55 mph zone on Highway 138 near Melba Street in a 2007 Ford Focus around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Roseburg police said today.

Woman's body recovered from river
A fisherman found a woman's body in the South Umpqua River on Friday. The unidentified woman's body was found near the boat ramp at the Douglas County Fairgrounds.
Roseburg man convicted of sex crimes against 8-year-old girl
A 70-year-old Roseburg man will serve at least 25 years in prison for sexually assaulting in 2010 an 8-year-old girl in Glide whom he met through a family member.

School cancelled today in Glide
The outage was the result of thunderstorms that hammered Southern Oregon yesterday from about 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. The decision to shut Glide's three schools was made at 7:50 a.m. today, after Pacific Power pushed its estimated time from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., said Superintendent Steve Dickinson.
