Invasive insect targets area's beech trees
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources in a Thursday news release announced the first finding of beech bark disease in Wisconsin in Door County.
At 11:10 a.m. Monday in the town of Sevastopol, Thomas A. Kaul, 51, of Baraboo was injured while riding his motorcycle south on Glidden Drive when he attempted to negotiate a right-hand curve.
Alumna leaves Lawrence $10 million gift
Robert and Bonnie Buchanan, both 1962 graduates of Lawrence, pledge a gift of $1 million to establish the Bonnie Glidden and Robert C. Buchanan Scholarship for students from the Fox Valley and Michigan's Upper Peninsula who have an interest in English or economics.
