Lewis County sheriff's deputies shortly after 1:30 a.m. initially charged Ashley M. Hutchins, 24, of 8345 Meadow Road, with disorderly conduct for allegedly laying on the horn of a vehicle and yelling profanities at her boyfriend, whom deputies did not identify.

Fred E. Gardner, 44, of 7208 Chases Lake Rd., Glenfield, was charged by Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies on Sunday night with criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation, second-degree harassment and endangering the welfare of a child.

Nine Lewis County residents caught up 10 days ago in 'Operation Spring Sweep' swept through County Court on Friday for arraignments on felony charges that they sold drugs in the village.

Andrew Meda, 33, 7575 S. State St., was charged with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, a Class B felony.

Local law enforcement officials are hoping to send a message with Thursday's arrest of nine Lewis County residents for allegedly selling drugs in the village over the past two years.
