Two Douglas County businesses announced more than 140 layoffs Tuesday. Swanson Group, which is headquartered in Glendale, is reducing lumber production and laying off about 112 employees in Roseburg, Glendale and other divisions.

A Josephine County School is closing for lack of money. The Three Rivers School Board voted Thursday night to close Wolf Creek Elementary at the end of this school year.
