Rebecca C. Hall, daughter of Dave and Marianne Hall of Pittsfield, has been named to the dean's list for the fall 2012 semester at University of Massachusetts-Amherst with a grade point average of 3.56. She is majoring in mathematics and statistics.

Norman Kenneth Hawkins, 75, of Kennebunk, formerly of Springfield, Mass., died Monday, April 1, 2013 at a Portland hospital, with his wife Marianne by his side.

After a massive overnight search and rescue effort by at least 60 public safety officers that extended to midday, the body of an Alford man was recovered on Saturday following a canoe accident on the Housatonic River in the Glendale section of town.
