May 17, 2009 Crews rescue stranded boy scouts in James River It was a busy day for rescue crews in Rockbridge County, where several people needed help in the James River.

Tragedy was narrowly averted Sunday afternoon on the James River below Glasgow when a group of nine Boy Scouts and at least two leaders from the Hampton area capsized in their canoes in the Balcony Falls area.
