Last week I proudly witnessed the graduation of a young lady from Gilmer High School who has become a very important person in my life.

BY PHILLIP WILLIAMS Special Correspondent GILMER -- A proposed five percent raise for all employees of the Upshur County Appraisal District is drawing fire from two Upshur County commissioners, one of whom is urging citizens to attend a public hearing on the district's proposed budget Monday.

The Gilmer Dulcimer Players and More will meet this Saturday at the First Baptist Church Annex on the southeast corner of Buffalo and Trinity.

GILMER Gilmer High School Graduation Ceremony will be held at 8 p.m. Friday, June 7, at Buckeye Stadium.
