INTERSTATE 70, Colorado - Traffic on Interstate 70 on Georgetown Hill will be stopped for about 20 minutes throughout the day on Wednesday and Thursday while crews do rockslide prevention work.

This week's forecast warm-up is expected to increase the risk of mud and rock slides in Colorado's high country.

Colorado transportation officials on Saturday reopened a lengthy section of Interstate 70 that was closed overnight, stranding hundreds of travelers, by a storm that dumped more than 3 feet of snow in the region west of Denver.
